May 2020: kinops Release Notes | Kinetic Data Blog

What’s New

Contextual Workflow Management:

Administrators can now view and create workflow from within the context of a Space, Kapp, or Form. This feature makes it a snap to toggle between a form and its related workflow.

New and Improved API Docs:

API docs for all Kinetic Platform components (Agent, Core, Discussions, Task, and Loghub) are now being made available at https://api.kineticdata.com. An interactive version of the API docs will also be available by clicking the “Help -> API Reference Docs” link within the Space Admin Consoles.

New Admin Navigation:

In an effort to improve usability within the Space Admin Console, we rearranged some of the sidebar navigation.

  • Grouped related tabs (Activity, Build, Configuration, and Definitions)

    • You now navigate between the Space, Kapp, and Global Workflow contexts using the dropdown in the upper left

    • To “View Space” or “View Kapp” simply click the links in the header

Improvements

  • We’ve made some changes so that it’s more obvious when a field within the Space Admin Console has “typeahead search” capabilities

  • Some changes have been made to make it more obvious what permissions a user has within the Space Admin Console. For instance, if they’re unable to create a form, we’re now hiding the “Create Form” button.

Bug Fixes

  • All Datastore Forms were previously being displayed in the Space Admin Consoles, rather than just the ones users had access to edit.

  • Task Nodes within the Workflow Builder are only allowed to be 128 characters. We added some constraints to let admins know when they exceed this length.
